A critical part of aircraft maintenance on piston driven engines is oil filter inspection. Oil filter inspection requires that the oil filter be cut open to inspect for metal debris. We offer the Airwolf and stick style of oil filter cutters.
The new Airwolf oil filter cutter is constructed of 6061-T76 anodized aluminum with stainless steel rollers for easy rotation. The razor sharp cutting wheel is easily replaced making this a great addition to any mechanics tool box.
The high quality Champion oil filter cutter has an 18mm adapter which allows the tool to be installed onto the filter. Once installed the tool rotates around the filter allowing the cutting wheel to cut a burr free edge allowing you to safely remove the end of the filter and access the filter element.
Our best selling economy model, a stick type, is made from 6061 T6 aluminum and is anodized for long life. This tool features an adjustable mandrel that fits in the filter attachment hole. Attach the tool to the filter and adjust the tool so that the cutting wheel is in contact with the edge of the filter. The cutting wheel is replaceable.
Our lineup of oil filter tools include a drain kit for horizontally mounted filters that allow you to drain oil from the filter prior to removal. No more spills or additional messes to clean up.
